Self Management Tools
for Overcoming Dyslexia

Is this program right for you?

You Can Look Forward To:

  • Discovering the "up" side of dyslexia, and the benefits of this perceptual talent
  • Improved comprehension while reading and listening
  • Increased ease with spelling and handwriting
  • Greater self-confidence at school or on the job
  • Better "focus" on tasks, with less strain
  • Continued improvement of reading, spelling, communication and attention after the initial, intensive program
  • Improved balance and spatial coordination

The Program Provides:

Assessment — to determine if the tools and methods offered by Multi-Mode Learning are a good match for the individual's needs and goals.

A Customized Program

  • Designed to meet client goals
  • Suited to client age (children, adolescents, adults)
  • With options for clinical and/or at-home strategies

Includes

  • Self-Management tools to clear up perception. The individual learns to clear up confusion and develop a sense of certainty with symbols, words, and concepts.
  • Self-Management tools for calming the 'flight-or-flee' response; students recognize when confusion creates a stress response that interferes with focus and clarity.
  • Mastery of symbols used in reading and writing (including letters and punctuation).
  • Mastery of key words--Certain words lack strong visual images, creating "blank spots" for the dyslexic reader. Mastering the definition and spelling of these words help fill in those 'blanks.'
  • "Brain Training" Exercises--for reading. These exercises train the visual system in left-to-right scanning, beginning with individual letters then moving to words.
  • Word-to-Picture Exercises that utilize the client's natural picture-thinking strength to improve comprehension
  • Follow-up Action Plan, drafted with the client, to create a strategy for ongoing improvement
  • Training for a support person to assist in follow-up
  • Kit of tools used during the program, which may include: Program manual, dictionary, grammar book, modeling clay, KooshTM Balls, listening CD's and more.
